Virginia Highlands Community College is excited to announce a Culinary Arts Program that can be completed in just one year and includes basic courses that are vital to those in the food service industry. The program leads to a Career Studies Certificate and can be used as a stepping stone to more advanced programs.

 

Two courses will be offered during evening hours each semester at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center. Each class includes hands-on instruction in a kitchen equipped with professional culinary equipment.

 

 

Spring Semester 2018

Classes Meet January through May

  • Principles of Culinary Arts I - Thursdays, 6-845 PM
  • Sanitation and Safety - Wednesdays, 6-8:45 PM
    (Students who complete this course are prepared to sit for the exam that leads to ServSafe certification)

Fall Semester 2018

Classes Meet August through December

  • Principles of Culinary Arts II- TBD
  • Principles of Baking - TBD
