What is a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)?
QEP stands for Quality Enhancement Plan. Each institution seeking reaffirmation of accreditation is required to develop a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The 5-year plan addresses a well-defined and focused topic or issue designed to enhance student learning and/or learning environment. The plan helps enhance student learning by identifying a need or an area that presents opportunities for improvement to help students achieve their education goals consistent the College’s mission. A QEP is a requirement for Virginia Highlands Community College’s reaffirmation of accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

The QEP must…

  • emerge from an institutional assessment process
  • be focused on improving student learning outcomes or the learning environment,
  • be sustainable
  • have broad based involvement
  • be measurable
  • have the potential to transform the college,
  • be consistent with VHCC’s mission, vision and values.

See SACSCOC QEP Guidelines for details.

See Our Process to review proposals and provide comments.
